Terms of Service
The licence terms for using ClassroomLens — what you may do, what we provide, and the limits. Plain language, no surprises.
Last updated: 6 June 2026 · Effective: on first use of a licensed copy · Read alongside our Privacy notice
The short version. ClassroomLens runs on your own device and is licensed to your school. Use it for your school's own classroom-observation work, keep your licence key within your leadership team, and treat the software as a workflow aid — it does not predict or guarantee any inspection outcome. Our liability is limited to what you paid. Either side can end the licence with notice.
1. Licence grant
Subject to these terms, we grant your school a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use ClassroomLens for the term of your licence. The licence is issued to your school (identified by your licence key) and covers your school's leadership team. The software runs locally in the browser on your devices. By default we do not host your observation data; if you enable optional cross-device sync, an encrypted copy is stored against your licence as described in our Privacy notice.
2. Permitted use
- Use ClassroomLens to analyse your own school's classroom-observation data for internal school improvement and inspection-preparation work.
- Share access within your school's leadership team, within the device limit attached to your licence.
- Export and keep your own data (it is yours and stays on your device).
3. Restrictions
You agree not to:
- Resell, sublicense, rent, or transfer your licence or licence key to another organisation;
- Share the licence key beyond your school's authorised staff, or attempt to exceed the device limit by circumventing licence checks;
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source for redistribution or to build a competing product;
- Use the software unlawfully, or to process personal data without the consents your local law requires (see our Privacy notice and section 7).
4. What ClassroomLens is — and is not
ClassroomLens is a workflow and analysis aid. It organises and visualises the observation data you enter and presents indicative, internal signals to help you decide where to focus. It is not an inspection prediction, an official judgement, a rating, or a guarantee of any inspection or regulatory outcome. Inspection results depend on the inspectorate's own judgement and on factors outside the software. You are responsible for validating any output before relying on it.
5. The software is provided "as is"
We work hard to make ClassroomLens reliable, but it is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the software will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that it will produce any particular result — including inspection-readiness or regulatory compliance, which remain your school's responsibility.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to ClassroomLens — whether in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise — is limited to the licence fees your school actually paid us in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business, even if advised of the possibility. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
7. Your data and privacy
By default, your observation data stays on your device and we do not receive it. If you enable optional cross-device sync, an encrypted copy is stored against your licence so your other devices can read it; you can turn sync off and delete that copy at any time. The limited licence-server data we do hold, and your rights over it, are described in our Privacy notice, which forms part of these terms. You are responsible for having any consents or notices your local law requires (for example, under UAE PDPL) before you process teacher or student data with the software.
8. Term, termination & refunds
The licence runs for the term you purchased. Either party may terminate with 30 days' written notice, or immediately if the other materially breaches these terms and does not fix it within 14 days of notice. On termination your right to use the software ends; your local data remains on your device under your control, and any optional cross-device-sync cloud copy can be deleted on request (see the Privacy notice). Fees already paid are non-refundable for the remainder of a term unless we agree otherwise in writing.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes take effect on renewal of your licence, or with 30 days' notice; we update the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use the software after changes take effect means you accept them.
10. Governing law & entire agreement
These terms, together with the Privacy notice and any written order or quote, are the entire agreement between us regarding ClassroomLens, and supersede prior discussions. They are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
